The Golden Triangle is India's most-booked first-time itinerary — and with good reason. In six unhurried days it threads together three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, two imperial capitals and one of the seven wonders of the world. Our version is designed for travellers who would rather stretch and arrive relaxed than race from one monument to the next. A professional English-speaking chauffeur handles every kilometre, tolls and permits are pre-paid, and you decide each morning whether to linger or move on.
Tour highlights
- Sunrise and sunset views of the Taj Mahal in Agra
- Amer Fort jeep ride and City Palace in Jaipur
- Old Delhi food walk through Chandni Chowk (optional)
- Fatehpur Sikri en route between Agra and Jaipur
- Chauffeur-driven air-conditioned car across all three cities
- Hotel tier of your choice — 3-star, 4-star heritage or 5-star luxury
Who this tour is designed for
This is our most popular package for first-time visitors to North India, couples on a short holiday, families with children and small corporate groups adding a leisure leg to a business trip. The pace is moderate: two heavy sightseeing days (Agra and Jaipur), one light arrival day, one light departure day and two travel-plus-sightseeing days in between. If you prefer a faster version we can compress it to 4 days; if you want to add Pushkar, Ranthambore or the Taj Mahal at sunrise with a second night in Agra, we rearrange without extra drama.
Why travellers book the Golden Triangle with Vibrantcar
We run this route almost every week of the year, which matters in three practical ways. Our drivers know which monuments close on which weekday (the Taj Mahal is shut on Fridays, Red Fort on Mondays), which lunch stops on the Yamuna Expressway are hygienic, and which hotel pick-up gates avoid Jaipur's evening traffic. We do not sub-contract the drive — the same chauffeur stays with you from Delhi arrival to Delhi departure, so nothing gets lost in handover. Billing is transparent, with GST invoices raised in your company name if you need them for reimbursement.
Getting around — distances and driving times
Delhi to Agra is 230 km on the Yamuna Expressway, comfortably done in 3.5 to 4 hours with one break. Agra to Jaipur is 240 km via Fatehpur Sikri, roughly 5 to 6 hours including the monument stop and a lunch halt. Jaipur back to Delhi is 270 km on NH48, 5 to 5.5 hours if you leave before the morning traffic builds. All inter-city drives are during daylight. The vehicle carries bottled water, phone chargers and a first-aid kit; Wi-Fi hotspots are available on request.
Practical advisories — ticketing, photography, connectivity
We pre-book Taj Mahal tickets online 24 hours before your visit to skip the cash counter queue — please share passport details at booking. Tripods, selfie sticks and drones are disallowed at all three cities' central monuments; phone photography is fine. Dress code for the Taj Mahal complex and Jama Masjid requires knee-length clothing; scarves are kept in the vehicle for sudden temple or mosque stops. For connectivity, Airtel and Jio both offer tourist SIMs at Delhi airport — an eSIM from Airalo or similar works seamlessly from landing. Payments: UPI and cards are accepted almost everywhere, but keep a modest cash reserve per person for tips, temple donations and the odd shop that has no card machine. Seasonal note: late October to early November occasionally has haze from post-harvest stubble burning in Punjab; it clears by late November.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best time of year to do the Golden Triangle?
October to March is the most comfortable window — cool mornings, warm afternoons, almost no rain. April to June is hot (40°C+ in Agra and Jaipur) but rates are lower and monuments are less crowded. Monsoon (July–September) is moody and photogenic but you should expect brief road delays.
Is the Taj Mahal closed any day of the week?
Yes — the Taj Mahal is closed every Friday for Jumma prayers. We always verify this before finalising your itinerary and simply swap Day 4 activities if your travel dates fall on a Friday.
Can I see the Taj Mahal at sunrise?
Yes. We schedule a sunrise visit on the morning of Day 4 — the light is softest, the marble glows pink-white and the crowds are thinnest. You will be back at the hotel in time for breakfast.
What does 'chauffeur-driven' include and exclude?
Your chauffeur handles the car, fuel, tolls and parking for the full 6 days. He is an experienced Hindi- and English-speaking driver but is not a licensed monument guide. We can arrange certified local guides at each city (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) on request; guide fees are charged separately.
Is hotel accommodation included in the package price?
Hotels are quoted separately because prices vary sharply by season and tier. You choose from 3-star comfort, 4-star heritage or 5-star luxury and we book on your behalf; the invoice is raised in your name. This keeps the tour price transparent and lets you upgrade or downgrade without reworking the whole package.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Yes — this 6-day version is our most balanced, but we regularly adapt it. Popular extensions include a night in Ranthambore for a tiger safari, a detour to Pushkar and Ajmer, a sunrise balloon ride in Jaipur, or a spiritual add-on to Varanasi at the end.
