8 Days / 7 Nights
Rajasthan Honeymoon Tour
Udaipur · Kumbhalgarh · Ranakpur · Jaipur — 8 Days / 7 Nights
Rajasthan does honeymoons better than almost any destination in India. Udaipur is the softest of the big cities — small enough to walk, lake-rich enough for genuinely beautiful sunsets, and home to three or four of the best hotels in the world. This 8-day itinerary pairs Udaipur with one night at a quiet fort resort in Kumbhalgarh (for a night without lights or noise), a morning at the Ranakpur Jain temple, and three nights in Jaipur with the option of a Rambagh Palace stay. We handle the small touches — private dock timings, the hotel surprise setup, the balloon lift, the spa slot — so you arrive to a ready trip instead of building your own plan on the road.
Tour highlights
- Arrival with flowers, candlelit welcome and private balcony setup at your Udaipur hotel
- Private sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola with chilled champagne and a pre-booked dock
- Overnight at Kumbhalgarh inside the Aodhi or The Kumbha Bagh — quiet, starry, zero crowds
- Candlelit dinner in the Jagmandir Palace courtyard or at 1559 AD
- Spa couples' day at the Oberoi Udaivilas or Rambagh Palace
- Optional hot-air balloon ride at Jaipur at sunrise
- Dedicated chauffeur and a single wedding-planner contact for all logistics
Why we build honeymoons around Udaipur, not Jaipur
Jaipur is the bigger city and it works as a finishing flourish, but the first four nights of a honeymoon should happen somewhere that is quiet, romantic and compact. Udaipur is the only major Indian city where you can walk from your hotel to the boat jetty in 10 minutes, take a 45-minute boat at sunset, and be back at your hotel for dinner — no traffic, no ticket queues, no 'logistical coordination.' Kumbhalgarh after Udaipur adds a single starry night in a 3,000-ft-elevation fort resort where the only sound after 9 PM is insects. Jaipur at the end gives you city energy when you're ready for it.
Hotel choice matters disproportionately on this tour
On a Heritage or Desert tour the hotel is a place to sleep. On a honeymoon the hotel is half the experience. The three Udaipur hotels we book most — Taj Lake Palace, Oberoi Udaivilas and Leela Palace — are genuinely different. Taj Lake Palace is on an island and requires boat transfers for every meal (utterly romantic, but the logistics are real). Oberoi Udaivilas is across Lake Pichola with private pools in most suites. Leela Palace is lakefront with the best infinity pool in the city. We walk through the pros and cons of each before booking and make the surprise pre-arrival arrangements with the hotel concierge on your behalf.
The one-night Kumbhalgarh stop is a deliberate choice
Most honeymoon packages skip Kumbhalgarh because it adds a transit day. We include it because every returning couple has called it the calmest night of the trip. Aodhi (The Kumbha Bagh) is a 28-key hunting-lodge-style resort with a small pool, large gardens, and zero cell signal on the property. The fort itself is a 20-minute drive and genuinely impressive — it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the second-longest continuous wall in the world. A Day 4 morning walk on the ramparts before driving down to Ranakpur for lunch is one of the stronger memories this itinerary creates.
The balloon lift and other pre-bookable extras
SkyWaltz operates sunrise hot-air balloon flights over Jaipur and Pushkar from October through March — the Amber Fort takeoff slot is particularly beautiful but sells out 2–3 weeks ahead in peak season. Couples' spa slots at the Oberoi Udaivilas, Rambagh Palace and Leela Palace also book 3–5 days ahead for the preferred evening timings. Jagmandir private dinner needs 72 hours' notice and a minimum spend. We pre-book all of these once you confirm the tour, so they are locked before you land.

Frequently asked questions
Which Udaipur hotel is the most romantic?
It depends on the vibe you want. Taj Lake Palace is the most photographed (it sits on an island, boat-access-only) and the most intimate. Oberoi Udaivilas has the best spa and the largest suites with private pools. Leela Palace has the best infinity pool and a slightly more contemporary feel. We walk you through all three in detail once you confirm so the pick matches your preference.
Is the Jagmandir candlelit dinner worth booking?
Yes, if you like a structured romantic moment. The dinner is a set-menu service on the Jagmandir island (reachable only by boat); the setting is gorgeous but the food is hotel-standard rather than exceptional. It needs 72 hours' notice and has a per-couple minimum spend. Many couples prefer the lower-key sunset boat + rooftop dinner combination.
When should we book the hot-air balloon?
SkyWaltz runs daily October–March, subject to winds. We book at least 10 days ahead in peak season (mid-November to mid-February). If winds are unfavourable on your booked day, the flight is rescheduled or refunded.
Can we add a beach leg (Goa, Kerala, Maldives) after this?
Yes — many international couples finish with 4 nights in Goa or 5 nights in Kerala. From Jaipur, it's a flight to Goa (via Delhi or Mumbai) or to Kochi. We can connect you with trusted partners in those destinations; they coordinate directly with us for the handover.
Is Ranakpur (a Jain temple) appropriate for a honeymoon day?
Yes. It's quiet, stunningly carved, and most couples find the 90-minute visit a reflective contrast to Udaipur's lakes. If you would rather skip religious monuments, we drop Ranakpur and replace with a direct drive back to Udaipur — you lose very little.
What should we pack for a November–February honeymoon?
Warm layers for evenings (Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh both drop to 8–12°C by 9 PM in December/January), modest dresswear for temple visits (shoulders covered), and one formal outfit for a hotel signature restaurant dinner. Swimwear for the pools. Comfortable walking shoes for the City Palace walk.
Can the hotels arrange surprises for us?
Yes. Every 5-star we book runs surprise setups — rose-petal turndown, monogrammed towels, cake on the birthday/anniversary date, suite upgrades where available. We pass on the specific day and surprise moment to the hotel concierge after you confirm; the hotel owns execution.
